Writing Prompt: August 26th, 2020

Good Morning writers! Hi! It has been a while, and I’m sorry. I’m human, and it is college season. I already had to drop a class because what I have is too much. I’m taking Modern Grammar, German 101, American Literature, and Remedial Math. (I like words, not numbers). I’m also working a full time job; and taking two dance classes my fiancé wanted me to take. I will try and keep you all up to date with prompts. I may not write my response to the prompt, but I will at least give you a prompt, and probably some type of resource if I don’t write. There is just a lot of reading I have to do and I’m really bad at reading. Haha!

Write a scene or a stanza of something that overwhelms your character. What are your character’s limits? It may be overwhelming, but how does your character deal with it? Do they use it and make them stronger? Or do they die from the emotion. This overwhelming feeling doesn’t always have to be negative either. It can be positive! Or, a positive that turns negative and vice versa. If you want to go an extra mile, try and make yourself describe every inch of how the overwhelming feeling encompasses, encapsulates, etc. your character.

-Inspired by Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin.

And here is your great resource! This is not sponsored in anyway, but a really great resource if you’re looking to publish or get your work out there is: submittable.com. Tons of magazines, websites, and newspapers use this website to find people who are from a variety of writing backgrounds. From beginner to the top ten best selling author. I use it and I love every bit of it!!! Check it out!
